Defender. Formerly known as Thieves Bar, the Legend of the Four Thieves is the story of four thieves in 15th century England that used a special blend of infused herbs and oils to keep themselves safe from illness. They robbed victims who were sick and dying, yet the thieves remained in good health. When the thieves were tried, leniency was offered if they would reveal how they managed to avoid the Plague.
They revealed the secret to their health: oils of Cinnamon Leaf, Clove Bud, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Lemon.
In today’s modern scientific world, it is reported that most viruses, fungi and bacteria cannot live in the presence of many essential oils, especially those high in phenols, carvacrol, thymol and terpenes. A nearly identical blend was tested at Weber State University (1997) for its potent antimicrobial properties and found to have a 96 percent effectiveness rate against certain airborne bacteria.
Our Defender Facial and Shampoo Bar uses the same powerful essential oils plus healing Neem Oil blend together for a wonderful antibacterial cleanser along with moisturizing and therapeutic plant oils in a 4 oz bar.

How to use:
Our shampoo bars are free of any synthetic colorants or preservatives and are scented with 100% pure essential oils. Made with the finest vegetable oils and butters, our shampoo bars also have the benefit of minimal packaging – there are no plastic bottles to recycle or throw away.
To use the shampoo bar, simply "comb" the bar from the top of your scalp to the bottom several times. Next, work the lather through your hair – you'll be surprised at the amount of lather – and then rinse as usual.
If you have regularly used commercial shampoo and conditioner, your hair may have collected chemical conditioners that will tend to weigh your hair down over time. This "buildup" on your hair may take several shampoos to strip off and can initially cause your hair to feel sticky, stiff or just YUCKY! This YUCKY hair syndrome can be immediately taken care of with a simple rinse of vinegar. Use a vinegar or lemon rinse (1 - 2 tsp. of vinegar in a cup of warm water - we use apple cider vinegar) for one to two weeks. Use as a rinse after shampooing and leave it in for several minutes, then rinse. Some people like to leave it in for extra body and shine. The vinegar smell will go away once your hair is dried. Within one to two weeks you will have beautiful, shiny, healthy hair.
Many of our customers continue to use the clarifying vinegar rinse once or twice a week as a regular part of their hair care routine.
Remember - like all of our artisan soap bars, please make sure your bars stay HIGH and DRY between uses. They last the longest if they are stored on a well-drained soap dish.
